Dee Dee Bridgewater - J'ai Deux Amours Tour 2005 - Live in Antibes,Juan-Les-Pins, France

Dee Dee Bridgewater (born May 27, 1950) is an American Jazz singer. She is a two-time Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter, as well as a Tony Award - winning stage actress and host of National Public Radio's syndicated radio show JazzSet with Dee Dee Bridgewater. She is a United Nations Ambassador for the Food and Agriculture Organization.

Bridgewater is the first American to be inducted to the Haut Conseil de la Francophonie. She has received the Award of Arts and Letters in France. She also won the 1975 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance in The Wiz.

Dee Dee Bridgewater is named as one of the top singers in both critics' and readers' Down Beat polls. Considering that she was a French denizen for some time (nearly 20 years). This DVD album is fabulous, and is one of the best concerts of DeeDee Bridgeater. I love this concert!

This DVD concert is sung primarily in French, although on a few standards, Ms. Bridgewater sang some songs in english. What makes this dvd so special, is the flexibility in Ms. Bridgewater's approach. She sings "J'ai Duex Amours" seductively,  "My Man" with a strong calypso beat; and "Girl Talk" as a strong, shouting funk. Then she does "La Belle Vie", starting with breathless seduction and morphing into strong, solid cabaret-style lines. My favorite is her unique take on "La Vie en Rose." The featured accordion playing, thus adding  the European flavor of the standards.

Steely Dan - Live at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater - Dec. 08 , 2006 Charlotte, New York City, U.S.A, Featuring Michael McDonald

Steely Dan is an American band built around two core members, Walter Becker and Donald Fagen. The band's music is characterized by complex jazz-influenced structures and harmonies.Becker and Fagen are well known for their near-obsessive perfectionism in the recording studio, which is one of the reasons why Steely Dan has reached cult-status with discerning music fans worldwide. The band has sold over 30 million records to date, been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and still performs with passion.

In the last few songs of the concert - Michael Mcdonald was introduced by Walter Becker. Concert went on up to the last song titled "FM". The crowd shouted "more"!  Their final song was "My old School"  If you really dig Steely Dan's music. This one is a knocker!

BIRELI LAGRENE, RICHARD GALLIANO, DIDIER LOCKWOOD. Live in Marciac, 2010

Richard Galliano, Bireli Lagrene, Didier Lockwood: a trio of three prestigious strong personalities. Probably accordionist, guitarist and violinist know they long. But this is the first time they have been grouped in a directory that gives pride to each and whose paternity, except for the Pent Up House, Sonny Rollins, Stephane Grappelli dear to their responsibility of one end to another. Fou Rire, Galliano, Place du Tertre Lagrene, Bequest of Lockwood, the tone and give a concert in which everyone has an opportunity to highlight its inspiration and superlative technique. It would probably be it excessive to speak of uniformity, but such a juxtaposition of talent has something to attract assistance clearly won.

Bireli Lagrene & Didier Lockwood - 35th Edition - Live Festival de Jazz de Vitoria-Gasteiz - 2010

Last January 24 2010 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Belgian gypsy who has been, without doubt, the European jazz musician greatest of all time.

The two best players possible to make a tribute to Django. The guitarist, also Gypsy Bireli Lagrene which debuted just being a kid in the eighties playing acoustic guitar with blinding speed. He made some recordings with bassist Jaco Pastorius, but "never want to forget to Django." His records and his concerts are always an event and on this occasion, will have the collaboration of the great violinist of Calais (France) Didier Lockwood. Spiritual son of Stephane Grappelli, which received the violin Michel Waldrop thus perpetuating the chain of French violinists. He has performed at Carnegie Hall with Dave Brubeck and the Blue Note with Miles Davis, Marcus Miller and Lenny White and has worked with Herbie Hancock, Elvin Jones and the Marsalis brothers.

Undoubtedly, Didier Biréli and make the best possible tribute to the memory and music of Django Reinhardt.

The Manhattan Transfer - Live Christmas

Live in Concert Manhattan Transfer Live Christmas with an orchestra- 2008. The current group was founded in 1972 by singers Alan Paul, Janis Siegel, Laurel Massé and Tim Hauser. Performances at Max's Kansas City, Trude Heller’s and Reno Sweeney in New York City soon brought them a cult following, and it was at the latter venue that Ahmet Ertegün, founder and chairman of Atlantic Records, saw them and offered a recording contract which led to the release, in 1975, of their first album under the new line-up, The Manhattan Transfer. The album included the group’s first hit single, the gospel tune "Operator".

The group soon did very well in Europe, where the next two albums, Coming Out and Pastiche, brought a string of top 10 hits. One was a revival of Wayne Shanklin's "Chanson D'Amour", which went to number one in the UK in 1977 but failed to chart in the US. These hits were followed by a live album, The Manhattan Transfer Live. It was recorded in the UK and captured the group's great popularity in Europe at that time. Immediately after that album was recorded, in 1978, Laurel Massé was badly injured in an auto accident and was replaced by Cheryl Bentyne. The line-up has remained the same since then.

This Christmas Album is so wonderful to watch and listen. The selected Christmas songs are just perfect for the Holidays! Who else can beat Manhattan Transfer when it comes to Acapella. The blending of their voices is just awesome! Merry Christmas to ALL!
